I started transitioning on the 22nd of December 2015, I stopped using relaxer on my hair because it really damaged my hair, it never grew beyond shoulder length and it changed colour.

I transitioned for 7months, and I big chopped on the 1st of August 2016 because I wasn't able to handle the two different texture of my hair, that is the relaxed ends and the new growth.

I am 6months natural now, that is 6months post bigchop...I do a lot of protective styles

DIY DEEP CONDITIONERS FOR NATURAL HAIR.

I have been carrying my natural hair for close to 9months, I never believe I could carry it this long but as a Hair Therapist, I conquered it. I discovered three DIY conditioners that works best on my hair and helped keep my hair soft and moisturized, so I will be sharing these recipes to all my curly friends especial those in their transitioning stage. DIY means 'Do It Yourself', so these are conditioners that you can do by yourself and you can find the ingredients easily. 1. AVOCADO MASK. This mask helps to keep the hair shiny and soft, it penetrates the hair shaft making it moisturized. Items used:   * Avocado   * banana   * coconut oil (or olive oil, any oil that works well on your hair). Blend avocado, banana and coconut oil very well until the chunks are not seen, apply to the hair strands and cover with a shower cap or nylon cap, leave for 20minutes and then rinse with water. 2. My Natural Hair Regime.

The first thing i like to do on my wash day is the  pre-poo,  my hair love coconut oil  and thats what i use for it, most times when i want to do a hot oil treatment, i mix it with Extra virgin olive oil. For my  detangling, i prefer to first finger detangle then use a wide tooth comb to remove the knots (cos i detect them) before shampooing  or co-washing , then i proceed to wash my hair in about 6 chunky twists. I have made it mandatory to deep condition  my hair on every wash day for about twenty to thirty minutes OR i leave it for hours if my hair needs extra attention. After which i follow with Apple Cider Vinegar rinse (ACV). Next i apply my leave-in conditioner and seal the moisture with an  oil. I do wash my hair every once in two weeks because of my busy schedules and it takes me two and half hours with the current length of my hair which i think is okay.
